if you know me, you probably already know that: i'm married to e,  i have a dog phoenix, i own many cameras and i have been working those cameras in and out of the photography business (art?) since i was quite small.

if you don't know me, you are probably here because i shot you or someone you know or perhaps you want me to shoot something. currently, i do not work for hire, but please contact me if you are interested in having me shoot your event or know of something you think i may be interested in shooting. i post much of what i shoot on this website and print a quarterly magazine of many of my favorite images. i also submit works to local shows and sell prints of my work. overall though, my photography is about the experience of shooting. 

to me, great photography is about capturing ordinary moments in a visually extraordinary manner.  i consider my photography to be similar to documentary film,  photojournalism or "street" photography.  lately, i have referred to myself as an independent photographer and though i do not like to categorize my work, if i could emulate anyone, it might be one of my photographic heroes- henri cartier-bresson. for more of my thoughts on shooting, you can read my complete statement here.
